DURHAM, N.C. – Benedict College All-American Zack Washington opened his outdoor season with a record-setting jump, winning the long jump event at Duke University's Duke Invitational on Saturday. Washington jumped 7.61 meters (24 feet, 11 ¾ inches) on his third attempt. He won the event by beating multiple Division I competitors from North Carolina State, Charlotte, Virginia, Coastal Carolina and The Citadel. His mark ranks fifth-best in NCAA Division II so far this season, while also being a meet and Benedict school record.
