PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) baseball team was defeated by Eastern Connecticut State University 28-8 Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex. Senior Carlo Acquisto, Jr. laced a two-run triple in a seven-run seventh for the Wildcats (8-18). In that frame, junior Henry Melanson singled in a pair of runs and freshman Chris Rosales plated classmate Dimitri Staphos with a sac fly. Rosales later drove in another run with an infield single and finished with two hits, as did classmate Bryce Larco. More soon.
