Xavier downs No. 23 TAMUT 4-3
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No. 6 XULA women’s tennis team bounced back from a tough loss Friday with a 4-3 conference win over No. 23Texas A&M Texarkana on a neutral court. The Gold Nuggets dropped the doubles point, although the No. 2 pair of Asadah Ma’at and Valeria Ortega defeated Adrianne Guangko and Emmanouela Besi 6-2, but stormed back to win 4-of-6 singles matches. Maja Brnic defeated Ana Gonzalez 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, and McKenna Wheatley defeated Zahra Dreyer-Ferreira 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, but it was Xavier’s showing in the lower matches that proved the difference.
