Wildcats hold off Foreurs for 2-0 series lead
Alex Mercier's late second period goal proved to be the winner as the Wildcats defeated the Val D'Or Foreurs 3-2 before 5,300 fans at the Avenir Centre and take a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-seven QMJHL Playoff Quarter-Finals. The Cats won the opener 8-1 Friday night. First Star Gabe Smith was solid at both ends of the ice -- setting up goals from defenceman Evan Depatie and Max Vilen.
