Strong Start Not Enough as Ripon Falls Twice at Beloit
BELOIT, Wis. — Ripon came up short in both ends of a doubleheader at Beloit on Saturday, falling 3-1 in the opener before dropping a heartbreaker, 10-9, in game two. In game one, Ripon was locked in a pitcher’s duel early before Beloit broke through in the fifth inning. A two-run double accounted for the difference, as the Red Hawks were held to just one run despite eight hits.
