Softball Splits With Duhawks on NFCA Strikeout Cancer Game
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque welcomed the Loras College Duhawks on Saturday for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Strikeout for Cancer game on the UD Softball Field. In the most unique arrival of a game ball, the ball was flown in by helicopter courtesy of UD Aviation Department in centerfield for the afternoon’s first pitch. Saturday the two teams played for more than wins and losses – we played for hope, strength, and everyone impacted by cancer. Throwing out the first pitch was Everett Redman, four-year-old son of UD Assistant Baseball Coach, Andrew Redman and wife Jordan.…
