Softball Rallies Late, Sweeps Belmont Abbey
PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke softball team used timely hitting and capitalized on errors to sweep Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon at Willoughby Softball Field. The Braves were held to just three hits to start the day, but a three-run homer from Chloe Locklear in the bottom of the seventh inning gave UNCP a 6-5 win over the Crusaders. Belmont Abbey committed five errors in the second game of the doubleheader and helped fuel a four-run sixth inning to complete the sweep with a 7-4 victory.
