Rolling Vancouver Whitecaps top New York City FC
Goals from Mathias Laborda and Brian White lifted the Vancouver Whitecaps to a convincing 2-0 victory over New York City FC on Saturday. Laborda opened the scoring off a free kick in the 44th minute, directing a leaping right-footed shot in for his second tally of the MLS season. White peppered NYC goalkeeper Matt Freese with shots all game and finally got a ball past him in the 87th minute, directing a header in for the club鈥檚 700th regular-season goal in MLS play.
