Records Fall in Big Weekend for Track and Field Squad
DURHAM, N.C./ALLENDALE, Mich. — Soniya Jones and Laurine Elisa Marimon both broke program records in a strong weekend for the Western Michigan track and field team. Jones dominated in the 100-meter dash, securing the program’s top time of 11.56. That was good for fourth in the event. Marimon took the school’s top spot in the triple jump, leaping a top distance of 12.67 meters. That was good enough to win the event.
