RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UT Arlington Mavericks dropped the opening game of their Western Athletic Conference series to California Baptist 9-1 on Friday night at James W. Totman Stadium. UTA (13-19, 2-2 WAC) trailed 2-0 after the first inning as California Baptist's Connor Ross delivered a two-run double to give the Lancers an early advantage.
