Mallard Breaks School Record at Duke
Elijah Mallard set another school record on Saturday, winning the 400-meter hurdles in 49.97 seconds. The mark was also a new facility record and meet record at the Duke Invitational. Mallard's time broke a 37-year-old mark in the event, besting Martin Ellis' 1989 time by 0.58 seconds and places Mallard with the nation's seventh-fastest time this year.
