Javelinas drop debut game against UT Dallas
Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville dropped the inaugural matchup against UT Dallas, 11-1, Friday from Nolan Ryan Field. After inclement weather threatened to push the game back, the Javelinas (21-18, 21-18 LSC) threatened the Comets (28-11, 28-11 LSC) in the early innings but eventually could not keep up with the first-year members of the Lone Star Conference as they dropped the series opener. Junior right-handed pitcher Garrett Nail would get the start for the Javelinas, tossing five complete innings with eight strikeouts to boost his lead in the conference to 83 K's.
