Friel hurls two complete games in Raptors’ split with Rutgers-Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (April 11, 2026) – Rutgers University-Camden junior Sammie Friel hurled a pair of complete games here Saturday, but the Scarlet Raptors had to settle for a split in their New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader against Rutgers-Newark. The Raptors won the opener, 2-1, behind Friel’s four-hitter before losing her five-hit effort in the nightcap, 4-2. The split leaves the Scarlet Raptors at 8-14 overall and 3-7 in the NJAC, while Newark stands at 5-21 overall and 1-9 in the NJAC.
