Dunayevich Breaks 5000m Freshman Record at UW-Platteville Invitational
PLATTEVILLE — The University of Chicago women’s track and field team sent two distance runners to the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday night to represent the Maroons in the 5000m Run. Katja Dunayevich made her collegiate debut in the Outdoor 5000m Run, and the freshman made an immediate statement by taking down the UChicago freshman record in the event. Dunayevich ran a time of 16:47.06 en route to a sixth-place finish, beating the freshman record by over four seconds. Her time also ranks as the 7th-best time in school history in the event.
