Cougars shut out twice by No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Averett University softball dropped both games of a doubleheader against undefeated Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. In Game 1, Averett (19-10) was held to just one hit in an 8-0 loss. Sophomore Brianna Brooks accounted for the Cougars’ lone hit, while Virginia Wesleyan (30-0, 12-0 ODAC) scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back.
