Wakeland Football Gears Up for 2026鈥�27 Season with New Opponents in 6A
April 10, 2026 Image via Wakeland Football Instagram Excitement is already building for the 2026鈥�27 football season, as new schedules and event dates have been released for games, homecoming, and pep rallies. The Wolverines will kick off district play Aug. 20, with games running through Nov. 5. 鈥淲e鈥檙e really looking forward to the challenge this season,鈥� said head coach Chandler Isom. 鈥淢oving up to 6A gives us a chance to grow and compete against new opponents.鈥� The homecoming game is set for Sept. 10 against Rowlett High School at Kuykendall Stadium, with the homecoming dance taking place Sept. 12.
