Softball Hands No. 22 WPI First Loss in Doubleheader Split
BABSON PARK, Mass.— Junior Emily Walsh (Flemington, N.J.) recorded three hits and first-year Anna Topel (Oak Park, Ill.) did not allow a run after the first inning to help Babson College hand previously unbeaten WPI a 3-2 loss in game one of Friday’s New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader on Friday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Engineers responded by defeating the Beavers 7-2 in the nightcap. Babson is now 10-14 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while WPI is 21-1 overall and 7-1 in the NEWMAC.
