Cougars add to recruiting class with Melville defenceman Boston Harkness
University of Regina’s men’s hockey coach Trevor Keeper announced Thursday that the Cougars have received a commitment from Melville Millionaires defenceman Boston Harkness for the 2026-27 season. Harkness was named the SJHL’s Saskatchewan Player of the Year and a league first-team all-star after an impressive 2025-26 campaign which saw him collect 10 goals, 38 assists, and 48 points in 54 regular season games. “Boston is one of the most complete defencemen in Junior A hockey,” Keeper said. “He wins a high percentage of puck battles, has an offensive touch, and has size and skating ability.
