Congeni clinches as Tigers defeat No. 38, Christopher Newport
SEWANEE, Tenn. – Mariella Congeni secured a third-set tiebreaker to clinch the match as Sewanee’s women’s tennis team defeated No. 38 Christopher Newport University, 4-3, in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday afternoon. Sewanee claimed the doubles point with wins at the one and three positions, both decided by tiebreakers. After falling 7-5 at two doubles, the duo of Congeni and Ivy Wilson responded with a 7-6 tiebreaker victory at the top spot.
