Strong Multi Performances Wrap Up Mines Midweek
By: Tim Flynn Final Results GOLDEN, Colo. - Lisa Sutherland won the pentathlon to headline a strong day for Colorado School of Mines' multi-event athletes as they wrapped up the Mines Midweek & Multi. Sutherland scored a career-best 4,824 points in the heptathlon, while Nick Stade took second and Vaughn Hafner fifth in the decathlon as Stade scored a career-best 6,289 points and Hafner 5,841. Sutherland entered the day in first and stayed their thanks to a 5.37m long jump, a personal-best 30.78m javelin, and 2:32.63 800m run.
