Newport News, Va. — The University of Lynchburg baseball team traveled to Christopher Newport for a nonconference contest and came away with a 16-2 victory in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at Captain Park. After a scoreless first inning, the No. 2/2 Hornets (22-3-2) broke through against the No. 13/13 Captains (20-8) in the second. Quinn Madden walked and later scored when Kyle Moshier reached on a throwing error.
