Grinnell softball team drops pair of hard-fought contests at Cornell
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Battling in a pair of hard-fought games, Grinnell College’s softball team came up just short at Cornell College Wednesday. Cornell rallied from a 3-0 deficit and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to capture the opener 4-3, and then held off the Pioneers for a 5-3 victory in the second game. Grinnell (6-18, 1-5 Midwest Conference) outhit the Rams 10-8 in the opener, with Kayla O’Malley ’28 collecting three of those hits and Gabriella Simon ’29 adding two.
