Wakeland Boys Soccer Reach State Final
April 7, 2026 Last Friday, both the Wakeland boys and girls soccer teams competed in the playoff semifinals, fighting for a chance to represent the Wolverines in the state finals. On April 3, the Wakeland boys defeated El Paso Burges in Midland through teamwork and determination. After controlling most of the game, the teams ended regulation tied 1-1 with a goal from Waleed Hadj-Hamou. Wakeland then pulled through in penalty kicks, earning a 4-2 victory. The boys will compete at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown against Comal Pieper in the Class 5A Division II state title game....
