Softball splits ODAC doubleheader with Roanoke
SALEM, Va. 鈥� Averett University softball split a conference doubleheader with Roanoke College on Tuesday, earning an 8-0 win in Game 1 before falling 9-4 in Game 2. In the opener, Averett (19-8, 4-3 ODAC) used a strong start and dominant pitching to secure the shutout victory. The Cougars scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back, adding runs in the second, third and fourth innings to build an 8-0 lead.
