Lloyd Becomes First Arizona Coach To Be Named Naismith Coach of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS – On Sunday at the Naismith Awards Brunch in Indianapolis, Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd became the first coach in program history to be named Naismith Coach of the Year. The other finalists for the award included Dusty May (Michigan), Fred Hoiberg (Nebraska) and Jon Scheyer (Duke). In his fifth season leading the Wildcats, Lloyd led the team to its first Final Four appearance since 2001 and finished the season with a 36-3 overall record – the most wins in a season in school history.
