PREP ROUNDUP: Pitching steals show on Day 1 of county softball tournament
Published 7:49 pm Monday, April 6, 2026 Cold Springs, Good Hope and West Point rode dominant pitching performances to opening-round wins at the Cullman County softball tournament on Monday. Kara Jones struck out 12 in a no-hitter to lift the Warriors past Fairview, while Peyton Kennedy (two hits and seven strikeouts) and Molly Benefield (two hits and 12 strikeouts) helped the Eagles and Raiders blank Holly Pond and Vinemont, respectively. Hanceville/Good Hope and West Point/Cold Springs will play semifinal games on Tuesday at 2 p.m. — with the winners meeting in the championship at 5 p.m. See local roundup below....
