Gogineni Defeats No. 6 Zheng; Men’s Tennis Falls to No Columbia
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Vignesh Gogineni earned an upset victory over No. 6 Michael Zheng in singles, but the No. 39 men's tennis team had its six-match winning streak snapped Sunday with a 5-2 loss to No. 37 Columbia at Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Gogineni defeated Zheng, who entered the match with 18 singles victories and is the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year, a four-time All-American, and a back-to-back NCAA Individual Champion in straight sets, 7–6 (3), 6–3.
