RINDGE, N.H. – NEC Softball was edged out by conference opponent Simmons University on Saturday afternoon Game 1 鈥� SU 7, NEC 4 Game one started with one batter reaching base for the Sharks but was ultimately thrown out at second by senior Emma Lopez (Downey, Calif.) leading to a quick defensive inning for the ‘Grims. On the offensive side, junior Kate Gagne (Portsmouth, N.H.) reached on the second pitch and then advanced to second after a ground out.
