Middlebury Swept By Amherst in Saturday Twin Bill
The Middlebury baseball team dropped both ends of a NESCAC West twin bill on Saturday to Amherst. The Mammoths took game one by a 6-3 margin in seven innings before tallying a 9-1 victory in the nightcap. GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS Middlebury grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, Brian Olson recorded a stand-up double to left-center field. A couple of pitches later, the Panther advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on an Amherst throwing error.
