Appleton, Wisconsin — The Lawrence University baseball team used timely hitting and strong pitching to pull away for a 7-2 victory over Illinois College on Friday afternoon at Whiting Field. After trailing early, the Vikings settled in and took control in the middle innings. Lawrence broke through in the sixth inning, plating three runs to take the lead before adding three more insurance runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
