Grinnell drops doubleheader to Ripon on University of Iowa diamond
CORALVILLE, Iowa – Grinnell College’s softball team took to the big stage Friday, playing on the University of Iowa’s Pearl Field on a day that alternated between partly cloudy, cloudy and rainy. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, they dropped both ends of a Midwest Conference doubleheader to Ripon College. Red Hawk pitchers limited Grinnell to a combined five hits in victories of 6-0 and 9-1. In the second game, Gabriella Simon ’29, Kayla O’Malley ’28, Asianah Gostyla ’28 and Julia Marquez ’29 had the Pioneers’ four hits.
