Central hosts surprise track and field meet
PELLA 鈥� With ominous weekend weather forecast, the Central College track and field team hosted a Thursday night dual meet against Simpson College on short notice. Team scores were not kept. The Dutch won 19 different events. Senior Olivia Bohlen (Belle Plaine) won the women’s long jump (18 feet, 0.5 inches) and 110-meter hurdles (15.17 seconds). Kale Hobart (junior, Mason City) won the men’s 110-meter hurdles (14.65 seconds) and the pole vault (15-0). Owen Tomko (junior, Costa Mesa, Calif., Fountain Valley HS) was the men’s long jump winner (22-3.75), 100-meter dash winner (11.35) and ran on the winning 4×100-meter relay…
