Baseball Topped by Trine in Doubleheader
The Hope College baseball team dropped a pair of close games to Trine University on Friday at Boeve Stadium, falling 6-4 and 3-2 in the series opener. The doubleheader was moved up a day after rain made Trine’s field unplayable. The series is scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6, at 4 p.m. at Trine. In the second game, the Flying Dutchmen took a 2-1 lead on a second-inning, RBI groundout from right fielder Jos Rusin and a fourth-inning sacrifice fly from center fielder Jace DeMann (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian).
