Bernardo Aguiar and Shannon Gibbons Named Forester Athletes of the Week
Tennis player Bernardo Aguiar and lacrosse player Shannon Gibbons were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. Playing at #2 singles, Aguiar earned the clinching point in Lake Forest’s 4-1 victory over the University of California, Santa Cruz on Sunday. After dropping the first set 7-5, the junior took the second 6-4 and was tied at three in the third. With the Foresters ahead 3-1 overall but down a set in the other two ongoing singles matches, Aguiar won the next three games to take the decisive third set 6-3 and secure the victory for his team.
