Pitching Dominates as Softball Sweeps Immaculata
IMMMACULATA, Pa.鈥� Eastern University Softball got outstanding pitching and just enough offense to earn a non-league sweep of a doubleheader at Immaculata University. Emily Trzonkowski set a new program record with 16 strikeouts in a one-hit shutout in the opener, and the Eagles scored twice in the seventh inning to earn a 3-1 win in the nightcap. Though the Eagles (15-5) did not score until the fourth inning in the opener, no Immaculata player had yet put a ball in play against Trzonkowski.
