Taylor Collects MEAC Weekly Award
NORFOLK, Va. (March 30, 2026) 鈥� The MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) revealed its softball weekly awards where Howard University junior catcher Makyia Taylor (Temecula, Calif.) collected the league's Player of the Week honor. The announcement came Monday afternoon. In the three-game sweep against South Carolina State (March 28-29), Taylor hit .444 in a series while recording eight RBIs, four runs scored, two homers and a double. The California native posted a 1.768 OPS, including a 1.222 slugging percentage. This season, Taylor tops the MEAC with 2.7 RBIs per game, which ranks seventh in the country.
