Sypeck tabbed Defensive Performer of the Week
William Smith junior Janey Sypeck was named the Liberty League Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week by the league office today. In addition, senior Taryn Luzi was named to the weekly honor roll. The Herons held at No. 8 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association poll and No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll after beating Vassar 19-6 on Saturday. Sypeck anchored William Smith’s defense as it held the Brewers to a season-low six goals and 13 shots. She had a game-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the victory.
