Marlins Come Up Short Despite Doubles Effort
Virginia Wesleyan put together a strong showing in doubles play, but ultimately fell 6-1 to N.C. Wesleyan on Monday afternoon. The Marlins found early momentum by taking two of the three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, Tuva Flink and Jette Hafermann teamed up for a solid 6-3 victory, controlling the pace throughout the match. The No. 3 pair of Zoe Vliegen and Lexi Hackbirth followed with an equally impressive 6-2 win, giving Virginia Wesleyan the edge in doubles play. N.C.
