Lamar opens Cardinal Challenge in fourth place
BEAUMONT, Texas — After the fog lifted, the sun broke through and the Cardinal Challenge got underway Monday at Beaumont Country Club. Lamar University stands in fourth place out of five teams after 36 holes, posting a two-round total of 628 (311–317), eight strokes behind third-place Blinn College. The Cardinals opened strong with 10 birdies in the first round, six of which came on the front nine.
