Haileselassie Sets New School Record at WashU Distance Carnival
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Columbia College junior Kalieb Haileselassie turned in the performance of his career at the WashU Distance Carnival on March 27, clocking a 14:26.39 in the 5000 meters to set a new school record and earn an NAIA B standard qualifier. The time breaks the previous Columbia College record of 14:34.75, slicing more than eight seconds off the mark in a single race. Haileselassie’s 14:26.39 also dips well under the NAIA B standard of 14:45.00.
