Zapata Sets School Record, Track and Field Has Strong Showing at Texas State Classic
The Incarnate Word men's track and field team walked away from this weekend's Charles Austin Classic at Texas State with a pair of first-place finishes, another handful of podium placements, and even more personal bests. Notable Results: Anthony Zapata's personal-best 1:50.56 not only won the 800-meter run, but it set a new Incarnate Word record in the distance. Christian Castro-Cruz won the 1,500-meter event with a personal-best 3:50.73. Jake Grullon came in second in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 53.21 seconds.
