Women鈥檚 Tennis Edges Out North Carolina Central in MEAC Opener
NORFOLK, Va. (March 28, 2026) 鈥� Howard University women's tennis team opened the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Round Up with a 4-3 victory over North Carolina Central (NCCU) Saturday at Folkes Stevens Tennis Center, home of Old Dominion. Third-year Bison Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and freshman Franchesca Brown (Atlanta) teamed up in doubles play, knocking off Mariana Zottoli and Valeria San Miguel, 7-5. Despite their victory, North Carolina Central won the other two doubles contests and took a 1-0 match advantage into singles competition.
