Armstead, a standout at UAPB, earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championships in both football and track & field before launching an exceptional professional career. Over 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he became one of the league's premier offensive linemen, earning five Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors while starring with the New Orleans Saints and later the Miami Dolphins.
