Ninth-Inning Rally Highlights Baseball鈥檚 Tie At La Verne
LA VERNE, Calif. 鈥� The Whitman College baseball team erupted for five runs in the top of the ninth inning to erase a five-run deficit and earn a 9-9 tie at the University of La Verne on Sunday, closing out its Southern California road trip with a dramatic comeback at Ben Hines Field. Both teams agreed to the abbreviated game due to Whitman’s travel time commitments to return to Walla Walla.
