ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men’s tennis team began its MIAC schedule with a 4-3 loss to Bethel University on Sunday at Hayden Tennis Courts. The defeat, which also came in the Scots’ home opener, drops Macalester to 6-6 on the season. The Royals improve to 14-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC. In doubles play, junior Kangyu Li (Shanghai, China/Shanghai Southwest Weiyu) and first year Derek Chen (South Kingstown, R.I./Moses Brown School) won their match at No. 2 doubles over Zach Chaffey and Watson Sheard, 6-3.
