VanWestrienen clocks 6th-fastest 5000m time in Division III history
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Cornell’s five-time track & field all-American Isaac vanWestrienen joined an exclusive list of NCAA Division III all-time greats in the outdoor 5000-meter run at Friday’s Wash U Distance Carnival. VanWestrienen ran the sixth-fastest outdoor time in Division III history with a blazing mark of 13:53.13. The senior finished second out of 232 competitors from all NCAA divisions. VanWestrienen shattered his own school record by 12 seconds. He was among eight athletes in Friday’s race who ran under the Francis Stadium facility record.
