Softball Clinch Series with Win Over Georgetown
VILLANOVA, Pa. 鈥� The Villanova softball team defeated Georgetown 5-3 Saturday afternoon at the VU Softball Complex. With the win, the 'Cats (8-26, 4-7 BIG EAST) clinched their second BIG EAST series win of the season. Maranda Runco also hit two home runs in the game, her second multi-home run game of the year and fourth of her career. Concurrently, Runco (W, 2-2) started for Villanova in the circle, her first of the season, pitching five innings, striking out a career-high four batters, walking three and giving up three runs on three hits.
