Pioneer softball team preps for league play with victory at Buena Vista
STORM LAKE, Iowa – With the aid of a school-record performance, Grinnell College’s softball team tuned up for Midwest Conference play by toppling Buena Vista University 9-4 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday. Kayla O’Malley ’28 tied the school record for hits in a game, going a perfect 5-of-5 at the plate. She now shares the mark held by Maddie Matsubara in 2019 and Samantha Chu in 2022.
