The Muhlenberg baseball team was close with Gettysburg until the late innings in both games of its Centennial Conference-opening doubleheader. In the first game, the Mules (4-13, 0-2) trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth and 3-0 through seven before the 21st-ranked Bullets (19-3, 2-0) scored seven times in the eighth for a 10-0 win. Muhlenberg led the second game, 4-2, through five-and-a-half. Gettysburg plated one in the sixth, three in the seventh to go ahead, and five in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
