Distance Athletics Excel on First Day at CMU
PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles track & field team completed their first day at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday, with members of the distance team taking the track at Gesling Stadium. In the 5000m, Abigail Butera recorded one of the best outdoor performances in program history on Friday, taking 12 th in the field of more than 50 runners. Butera crossed the finish line in a time of 17:55.32, which now ranks third on the program's all-time performance list behind just Erin Richard (16:41.4) and Melissa Terwilliger (17:46.4).
